RAF Sculthorpe

From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.

RAF Sculthorpe is a helicopter training facility for the United Kingdom's Royal Air Force, located near Fakenham. Built during World War II, it was refurbished for United States Air Force use following the war, and by 1957 was the largest airfield in the UK, home to the B-45 Tornados of the 47th Bombardment Wing USAF. The RAF purchased the base back from the USAF in 1963.
