Rødgrød med fløde
From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.
Rødgrød med fløde (red porridge with cream) is a traditional Danish pudding. In addition, it is the standard tongue-twister for demonstration of Danish guttural vowel sounds.
Generally, 'rødgrød' is made with berries (usually redcurrants, but they can be strawberries, raspberries, or others) which are stewed with sugar and flour. The resulting pudding served cold with cream is – for a Dane – a pleasingly patriotic red and white reminder that the simpler things in life are often the best.
