Quasar (satellite)
From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.
Quasar is the code name for a rumored communications satellite, operated by the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office. It was launched into a high-apogee orbit from Cape Canaveral on August 31, 2004 by an Atlas 2AS rocket. Rumor has it that Quasar acts as a relay for messages to and from the network of spy satellites operating in the Northern Hemisphere.
