Pythium oligandrum is a
water mould. It has been shown to parasitise many fungi and other water moulds including
Botrytis,
Fusarium and
Phytophthora, and has been licensed as a
biocontrol agent in the
Czech Republic.
P. oligandrum stimulates plant growth in Toamto, and this is thought to be due to the synthesis of auxin-like compounds.
