A player can be any of the following:

• A player is a participant in a game.

• Player is the Elizabethan term for an actor.

• A player (known in the UK as a womaniser) is a U.S. based slang term for a (usually male) individual who is skilled at sexual seduction.

• Player can be a shorthand term for any of a number of technological objects. For example, DVD players and CD players are often simply called "players".

• Media player is a piece of software tailored for playing back different forms of multimedia file formats.

• The Player (1992) is a satirical film by Robert Altman about a cynical Hollywood film producer.

• Player is also a band from the 1970s, best known for their one-hit wonder Baby, Come Back.
