Oceania (Single)
From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.
Oceania was the first single off of Björk's fifth album, Medúlla. It was written for the 2004 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony, where she performed immediately following the Parade of Nations. Like the rest of Medúlla, it is composed purely by human vocals. Since it is written from the point of view of the ocean, addressing humans, the video (directed by Lynn Fox) featured a jewel-encrusted Björk in a dark heap of water, with sunlight and swirling creatures above her.
