In genetics, non-Mendelian inheritance is the passing on of a trait in a form other than through chromosomal inheritance. This is especially used to talk about inheritance patterns. Forms of non-mendelian inheritance include the inheritance of Mitochondrial diseases and mutations and chloroplast mutations .
