No Kum-Sok

From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.

In 1953, a North Korean pilot named No Kum Sok, flew his MiG-15 to Kimpo air base, South Korea. He was a lieutenant in the North Korean Air force who wanted to get away from the "red deceit".

He received a $100,000 reward, which he had not heard about, and later emigrated to the United States and became a citizen of that country.

He wrote also a book, A MiG-15 to Freedom (ISBN 0786402105) about his defection and life in North Korea.
