Mopti Region

Mopti is a region in Mali. It is the fourth administrative area of Mali and it extends on 79,017 Km². Its capital is the town of Mopti.
It is located north of the capital city Bamako. Mopti itself is an interesting place for tourism. There is an active port, a mosque, and across the Niger River small fishing villages.

Culture
The region is a meltingpot, made up of various ethnic groups which live in harmony with one another. Several languages are spoken in the area, like Bambara, Dogon, Sonrhaï, Bozo and Peul.
