Latite

Latite is an igneous, volcanic (extrusive) rock, with aphanitic to porphyritic texture. Its mineral assembly is usually, alkali feldspar and plagioclase (in a ratio < 1:4). Quartz is absent. Biotite, hornblend, pyroxene and scarce olivine are common accessory minerals.
