Kraków Uprising

From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.

The Kraków Uprising of February 1846 was an attempt to incite an all-Polish fight for home-rule but was in fact limited only to the Free City of Kraków. The uprising, led by Edward Dembowski, was quickly suppressed by the Austrian army, and followed by Kraków's incorporation into the Austrian Empire as Grand Duchy of Kraków.
