Judean Hills
From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.
The Judean Hills are located on west of Jerusalem, the capital city of Israel. The Judean hills form a natural division between the coastal plains to the west and the Jordan rift valley to the east.
In a reference to the history of the holy city of Jerusalem, it has been mentioned that "Over a million years ago elephants, rhinoceros, giraffes, water buffaloes and other animals now extinct here roamed the Judean Hills.[1] (http://www.biu.ac.il/JS/rennert/history_2.html)" Bethlehem , the birthplace of Jesus and also King David, is located in the Judean Hills.
Currently, a Master Plan for development of Judean Hills region is in progress.
