Journal of Genetics
From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.
The Journal of Genetics (not to be confused with another journal called Genetics) is a scientific journal concerning genetics.
The Journal of Genetics was founded in 1910 by the British geneticists William Bateson and Reginald Punnett. It was later edited by J.B.S. Haldane. When Haldane moved to India in 1957, he took the journal with him. On Haldane's death in 1964, Haldane's second wife Helen Spurway continued to publish the journal with Madhav Gadgil and H. Sharat Chandra and Suresh Jayakar as editors. Spurway died in 1977 and the journal ceased publication. With the permission of Haldane's sister, Naomi Mitchison it later resumed publication and has been published by the Indian Academy of Sciences in Bangalore since 1985.
