James C. Spix (born June 10, 1974) is an author and designer. He was raised in Orange, California, and attended ITT Technical Institute where he graduated valedictorian with a degree in computer-aided drafting. He went on to work in the construction field doing design layouts for the banking industry.
Spix's primary writing influence comes from the Star Wars Thrawn trilogy written by Timonthy Zahn. He has also found direction from such authors as Michael Stackpole, Chris Claremont, and Tom Clancy. His love for their character interaction and fast paced sequences are evident throughout his writing.
His first published novel was Sutherlin Alliance (2002), which is a science-fiction, adventure novel pitting a small rebellion against a large galactic power. All of his character driven stories deal heavily with interpersonal relationships and the human need to find ones place and belong.
Apart from science-fiction, Spix has appeared in several poetry books and has delved into various other genres including fantasy and western.
