Hoverspeed

Hoverspeed, formed in 1981 by the merger of Seaspeed and Hoverlloyd, is one of the largest ferry companies operating the cross Channel ferry route (Dover-Calais).
Today owned by SeaContainers Ltd., the company runs a fleet of 2 high speed SeaCat Catamaran ferries, and 1 Superseacat Monohull ferry, and its fleet will be expanded next year with the inception of 2 brand new JUMBO SeaCats.
Hoverspeed is famously known for its part in developing the Hovercraft ferry, and has ran a hovercraft ferry using Mountbatten class hovercraft (SR.N4 craft) on its Dover to Calais service until the 1st October 2000.
