Horsens municipality

Horsens municipality, a municipality in central east-Jutland, Denmark, in the county of Vejle. The municipality is the second largest in Vejle county after Kolding municipality.
The municipality covers an area of 188.84 km², and has a total population of 58,061 (2004). Main city and site of municipal-council is Horsens.
By January 1, 2007 Horsens municipality will cease to exist, as it will combined with Brædstrup (except Voerladegård parish) and Gedved municipalities to form a new municipality, which has not yet been officially named, but likely will be named Horsens municipality.
Formed in 1970 from Horsens city and the following parishes;

- Kloster Sogn (Nim Herred)
- Lundum Sogn (Voer Herred)
- Nebel Sogn (Voer Herred)
- Sønderbro Sogn (Nim Herred)
- Tamdrup Sogn (Nim Herred)
- Torsted Sogn (Hatting Herred)
- Tyrsted Sogn (Hatting Herred)
- Uth Sogn (Bjerre Herred)
- Vær Sogn (Voer Herred)
