Horde

Horde is a term derived from a Turkic word - ordu. It means a large army, military force, or a nomadic camp, typically of a barbaric nature.
Horde can mean:
- The Golden Horde - a Tatar state established by Batu Khan, a grandson of Genghis Khan.
- The Orcish Horde - a faction in the Warcraft Universe. In Warcraft III, the horde consists of the following Warcraft races: Orcs, Trolls and Tauren. The MMORPG World of Warcraft adds the Undead to the horde.
- The Soviet Union's Red Army was often compared to a Mongol horde, during the Red Scare in the United States.
