An honors student is a student recognized for achieving high level grades. The level of grades required to become an honor student is determined individually by each school's administration. Many schools require an overall grade average of A (90%) or better for the student to be considered an honor student.
This title is usually limited to elementary, middle and high schools. A similar concept in colleges and universities in the U.S. is called the Dean's List.
