Hong Kong Time
From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.
Hong Kong Time (abbreviation: HKT) is the time in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China. The time is UTC + 8 all year round. In fact, Hong Kong Time is the same of the time in all regions of China.
Hong Kong Time has once adopted daylight saving time from 1941 to 1979. But since Hong Kong is at a low latitude, the Hong Kong Observatory found it unnecessary to adopt daylight saving time. That was why daylight saving time was not adopted in Hong Kong since 1980.
