The Hollywood & Highland entertainment and retail center in Hollywood, California, houses the Kodak Theatre, site of the annual Academy Awards.
Part of a major redevelopment effort, the multi-level complex opened in 2001. Located adjacent to Grauman's Chinese Theatre and directly opposite Disney's El Capitan Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard, with a prime view of the Hollywood Sign and fanciful architectural elements intented to evoke the glitz and glamour of a bygone era, the center is meant to capitalize on and enhance the area's tourist appeal.
