Holiday (song)

From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.

"Holiday" is the third single from Green Day's seventh studio album, American Idiot. It is a pre-player to "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" (the second single from the album), and the two videos collide into one another. "Holiday" is very lively, and jumpy, and half of the video takes place in a car, where Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool are causing mischief around the town and in the other half - they are cavorting in a bar, where they are playing different versions of themselves, such as Billie Joe Armstrong - the Representative of California and two fighting clients, Tre Cool - a drunked client, who is vomiting and one prostitute, and Mike Dirnt - the barman. At the end, the car halts in the field "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" begins in.

The song peaked at #11 on the UK charts and #19 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Lyrics

Some phrases on the lyrics mention real events, like: A gag: A plastic bag on a monument[1] (http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/01/13/security.report)

There are some critics to the governement: 'Sieg Heil' to the president gasman

And sarcasm on some lines: Trials by fire, setting fire
