Henry Dundas, 3rd Viscount Melville

Henry Dundas, 3rd Viscount Melville (1801-1876) was a British military leader.

The eldest son of Robert Dundas, 2nd Viscount Melville, he was captain of the 83rd Regiment from 1824, was active in suppressing the Canadian rebellion in 1837, was appointed colonel and aide-de-camp to Queen Victoria in 1841, and played a distinguished part in the second Second Anglo-Sikh War as second in command at the capture of Multan. He was raise to the rank of general in 1868. He was awarded the GCB in 1870.

His younger brother, Richard Saunders Dundas was a prominent naval officer.
