Heather McCartney is the adopted daughter of Paul McCartney. Born Heather Louise See on 1962-12-31 to Mel and Linda See in Tucson, Arizona, Heather would spend her toddler years in Arizona. In 1964, Mel left for Africa. Although originally he wanted Linda and Heather to come with him, Linda declined. Mel left and hoped Linda and Heather would follow later. They didn't, and a letter came from Linda saying she was getting a divorce. Linda finished college in 1965 and she and Heather moved to New York.
While Heather attended school Linda worked as a photographer for Town & Country Magazine. She became a top notch celebrity photographer. This lead to her trip to England in 1967 where she met Paul McCartney. The two became friends. After Paul broke off his engagement to Jane Asher he asked Linda and Heather to come to England and live with him. They accepted. On 1969-05-12 Paul and Linda married with Heather acting as flower girl. Paul then adopted Heather as his own daughter.
Heather's sister Mary was born in 1969 and after her birth the McCartney family lived in Scotland to escape the mayhem surrounding The Beatles' breakup.
Heather appears in the Beatles movie Let It Be which was filmed in 1969.
Heather's sister Stella was born in 1971. Also in 1971 Paul McCartney decided to reenter the music world. He created a group called Wings with Linda.
Her brother James was born in 1977.
During the 70's Heather and her siblings accompanied her parents around the world with Wings until 1980 when Wings stopped touring. During these tours the children were educated by a tutor. After the touring stopped they went to normal public school.
In 1981 Heather won a Young Printer of the Year Ilford award for a photo she called "Waterfall."
During the early 1980's Heather dated musician Billy Idol.
In the 1980's Heather got in contact with her biological father Mel and moved to Arizona to live with him. It was here she got interested in the colors and cultures of ceramics. She moved back to England and began working as a potter living in her studio.
1995 brought sad news. Heather's mother Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer. For the next few years she seemed to be recovering. Sadly though she died on April 17 1998 in Tucson, Arizona. The whole family had been on vacation. Heather was at her mother's side when she died. Heather called Mel afterwards. Later in the year Heather was a bridesmaid in her sister Mary's wedding.
On March 19, 1999 Mel committed suicide. Heather entered herself in a clinic to deal with her emotional problems and depression.
Before Mel died Heather had revealed her new line of houseware products in Atlanta, Georgia with Paul at her side. Before his death Heather acknowledged Mel as having a life long influence on her but said that she considered Paul her true father.
In 2002 Paul remarried to Heather Mills. Although Heather and her siblings attended the wedding there have been statements that the children do not get along with their stepmother. Paul and Heather both deny any friction.
In 2003 Paul and Heather Mills McCartney had their first child, a girl named Beatrice.
Currently Heather lives on Paul's Essex estate in England. She keeps a low profile and continues to work as a potter which she is now famous for in England.
