GenieLab
From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.
GenieLab is an Internet-based music recommendation and exploration system that uses collaborative filtering to predict user's listening tastes. Users create an account, rate music, and then the system gives them recommendations.
GenieLab is connected to Amazon, iTunes and MSN Music so that once a new music group is recommended to a user they can listen to samples of the group quickly, and also so that GenieLab can learn more about the categorization of an artist.
GenieLab employs an ethnoclassification system that lets users freely associate keyword tags with artists.
GenieLab allows users to share their musical tastes on a profile page and via numerous RSS feed systems. Users may even elect to receive recommendations via RSS so that they do not need to visit the site to receive recommendations.
