Name origin

The name "Gardevoir" is thought to originate from the words "guard" and "voir" (French, "to watch").

Availability

Gardevoir must be evolved from a level 30 Kirlia, which in turn must be evolved from Ralts. Ralts can only be captured in the wild in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. A trade must be peformed in order for a Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen or Pokémon Colosseum player to obtain one.

Information

Gardevoir is an extremely loyal pokemon, and is said to do anything to help or aid its trainer, even at the risk of its own life. Gardevoir's brain is highly developed and surpasses that of a human. However, its body is not that strong, so a single, well-aimed physical attack can do heavy damage against it. It is unknown how it does so, but Gardevoir is known for making small black holes when its trainer is in danger. And like the pokemon Xatu, it too can see the future. Using this ability, it can detect when its trainer will be in any possible danger.

Gardevoir has a pale, white face, a green bouffant-like hairstyle, a small green and white torso, and long green arms that turn somewhat clublike near its hands. It has two red half-hearts - one on its front torso, another on its back. It has a peculiar dress that covers its long, green or white legs. Gardevoir looks like a fully-grown woman, despite the fact that some Gardevoir are male.

Pokemon TCG

In the TCG, Gardevoir is one of the top ranked cards. The RS Version, and SS Version are powerful, they use Boost Energy to the best advantage, Boost adds an extra 30 damage to their attacks, extremely deadly. In addition, RS Gardevoir's Power allows it to attach an extra Psychic energy to it at the cost of 20 damage. Emerald Gardevoir has the heal dance ability, which will remove both counters, making this Gardevoir combo extremely deadly.
