Frequency factor (chemistry)
From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.
In chemical kinetics, the frequency factor or A factor or pre-exponential factor is a constant in the Arrhenius equation indicating how many collisions between reactants have the correct orientation to lead to products.
In the Arrhenius equation
- k is the rate constant for the reaction
- A is the frequency factor
- E is the activation energy
- R is the gas constant
- T is the temperature
