Every Man A King is one of Louisiana's state songs.
Louisiana's governor and senator Huey Long was known for his saying "Every man a king," which was the slogan of his Share Our Wealth proposal during the Great Depression.
The song was co-written in 1935 by Huey Long and Castro Carrazo, band director of Louisiana State University.
A cover of the song was recorded by Randy Newman for his 1974 album Good Old Boys.
