Ernesto Sabato

Ernesto Sabato (born 1911 ) is an Argentine writer (of Italian and ethnic Arbëresh/Albanian descent). He earned a PhD in Physics and worked at the Curie Labs but after WWII he lost his faith in science and started writing.

By request of president Raúl Alfonsín, he presided over the CONADEP commission which investigated the fate of the desaparecidos during the Dirty War of the 70s.
