Dubasari

Dubăsari is a town in eastern Moldova with a 1989 population of 34,000. The current population is estimated at around half that number. Its geographical location is 47°16′ N 29°10′ E (http://kvaleberg.com/extensions/mapsources/index.php?params=47_16_N_29_10_E_). The name of the town is derived from the word "dubas", which means a boat.
Unlike other cities on the left bank of the Nistru(Dnister) River, Dubasari along with Grigoriopol are cities with a Romanian population exeeding 50%, while Ukrainians and Russians represent large minorities.
