Diana Churchill

From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.

Diana Churchill (July 11 1909-1963) was the daughter of Sir Winston Churchill and Clementine Ogilvy Hozier. Diana caused her parents great distress as an adult.

On 12 December 1932 she married Sir John Milner Bailey, but the marriage was unsuccessful and they divorced in 1935. Later that year she married Conservative politician, Duncan Sandys, on 16 September. After having three children, that marriage also proved a failure and they were divorced in 1960.

She gained the rank of officer between 1939 and 1945 in the Woman's Royal Naval Service. On 11 April 1962 her name was legally changed back to Diana Churchill.

Diana had several nervous breakdowns and in 1963 she committed suicide at the age of 54.
