Dawson Leery is the lead character on television series Dawson's Creek, played by James Van Der Beek.
Parents are Mitch and Gale Leery. His best friends are Joey Potter who he had known since he was a child and Pacey Witter. An eternal optimist (at least originally) Dawson believes in the good old fashioned values of romance and honesty.
He lives in Capeside and attended local high school Capeside High.
Dawson is a wannabe movie director and his hero is Steven Spielberg.
