Cyprus Airways is the national airline of Cyprus, operating flights from Larnaca and Paphos. It also has a charter airline division - Eurocypria Airlines.

History

Cyprus Airways was established in 1947 as a joint venture between the Cypriot Government and BEA - British European Airways. Initially Douglas DC-3s were used on regional routes from Nicosia. From 1953 Vickers Viscounts owned and operated by BEA were used on a London Heathrow service. These were replaced with the introduction of De Havilland Trident Two aircraft acquired from BEA, with BEA red-wings, but otherwise in full Cyprus Airways livery. An all Airbus fleet is now operated.

Livery

The Cyprus Airways livery is an all white fuselage section, with the words Cyprus Airways in blue over the front passenger windows. The tail is all blue with an agrino symbol (a type of wild sheep related to the mouflon).
