Charles Ingalls

Charles Phillip Ingalls is father of Laura Ingalls Wilder, known for her Little House on the Prairie series of books. He was born January 10, 1836, in Cuba, New York from Laura and Landsford Ingalls as second out of nine children.
On February 1, 1860 he married Caroline Quiner and they soon had five children, out of who one died in babyhood - Mary, Laura, Carrie, Freddy and Grace.
He loved traveling and didn't like living among big crowdes of people, so together with his family, he traveled a lot and often changed homes. They settled down for good in De Smet, South Dakota where he died on June 8, 1902, at the age of 66.
