Celestún

Celestún is a town in Yucatán, Mexico. It in the north west of the state just north of the border with Campeche state, on the Gulf of Mexico coast at 20°87′ N 90°40′ W (http://kvaleberg.com/extensions/mapsources/index.php?params=20_87_N_90_40_W_type:city(6,000)). In 2000 it had a population of just under 6,000 people. It is mostly a fishing town, with an old 19th century lighthouse as well as a more modern one.
Nearby is the 147,500 acre (600 km²) Parque Natural del Flamenco Mexicano, a wetland reserve that is the winter home to vast flocks of flamingos.
