Cavum tympani

Cavum tympani (the middle ear) is built up mainly of three bones:
1) Malleus 2) Incus 3) Stapes
M. tensor tympani and M. stapedius are two musceles conected to the bones.
The tensor tympani is innervated by the mandibular branch of the trigeminal nerve (V3), while the stapedius is innervated by the facial nerve (CN VII).
Malleus is connected to membrana tymapni. Sound is transmitted in this pattern:
Membrana tymapni → Malleus → Incus → Stapes → Fenestra vesitbuli
