Drop bear and User:Chamaeleon/Sandpit

The Drop bear is fictional (á la Bigfoot) and User:Chamaeleon/Sandpit is a user who has an article about wombats on his/her page...is this appropiate for the Australian animals category? Would there be any objection if the references to this category on these two articles were removed? Drop bear already has entries in Fictional animals and Folklore of Australia categories...
