This is a category for monarchs of the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Wessex.

The question of who qualifies as a monarch of Wessex is sometimes a difficult question to answer. One approach is to say that no monarchs after Ælfred should be included, since from that time forward Wessex ceased to exist as a separate political entity.
