Irish (Gaeilge) is a Goidelic language spoken in Ireland. The language is sometimes referred to in English as Gaelic (IPA /'geɪlɪk/), Irish Gaelic, or Erse, but is more generally referred to in Ireland as the Irish language or simply Irish.
