Ecology is the branch of science that studies the distribution and interactions between living things and between living things and the physical environment. The term was coined in 1866 by the German biologist Ernst Haeckel from the Greek oikos meaning "house" and logos meaning "science."
Note that this category does not cover environmentalism or economics or ethics topics. It covers just the science of ecology.
