Buri

In Norse mythology, Buri (also Búri, Bur, Bure) was the first god formed by the cow Audumla licking the salty ice of Niflheim. He was the father of Bor and grandfather of the Aesir. In one version of the origin myth, Buri is attributed with bringing the other gods into being when he engaged the evil frost giant Ymir with a battle cry. This warcry caused the other gods to spring from a dark chasm. Many gods perished in this battle including Buri himself, although at least his grandsons Odin, Vili and Ve survived, killing the giant Ymir and forming the present world from his body.
