British Touring Car Championship
From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.
The British Touring Car Championship is a series of races for saloon cars which is held each year in the United Kingdom. The Championship was established in 1958.
The cars used are two litre saloons, based on models from a variety of manufacturers. There are strict regulations on the modifications which can be made to the cars, which are intended to reduce the cost of putting out a team, which has become prohibitive for many teams in the past. The teams are a mixture of works teams from manufacturers such as Honda, Seat and Vauxhall and independent teams.
In 2005 there will be ten racing weekends at nine different circuits, each comprising three races, making a thirty round competition in total.
