I don't think it has to be a clickable link if you are worried about spam. Actually I am surprised Jimmy doesn't have a abuse@bomis.com address as most ISPs have to actually use it only for the designated agent. Alex756

- see wikipedia:protected page - why is this page protected? (could you fill in the reason there...) see also wikipedia talk:protected page
- I still don't understand. Is it or is it not required to be read only, and why? Koyaanis Qatsi
- I asked if it might be protected on User talk:Jimbo Wales. It is a disclaimer that is required under the DMCA OCILLA provisions. It is really a copyright notice. There is a designated agent page in Biocrawler for more information about why it should be here. In brief as long as this notice is ALWAYS posted on the site where the public can get access to it, then it gives Biocrawler ten days after someone alleges copyright infringement to decide what to do about it. Seems like a good idea to have it protected so it cannot be vandalized. Hope that explains it.Alex756 12:35 May 14, 2003 (UTC)
- that does, thanks. :-) Koyaanis Qatsi
On the Bomis.com main index I found the following link
It has a slightly different email address: copyright AT bomis.com
Maybe bettter to link to that email address or put a link to that page too? Alex756 20:23 15 May 2003 (UTC)
- I copied this to meta:designated agent - presumably the same logic applied there... Martin 14:36 30 May 2003 (UTC)
Could some admin please place an interlanguage link to the german version of the page: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biocrawler:Designated_Agent --elian
That's been done now. -- Toby Bartels
