Stubs

For stubs about anime and manga, use {{anime-stub}}. This will go into the Category:Anime and manga stubs category.

Structure for Shows, Movies, and Manga

This is still very preliminary; if you have issues with it, change it.

In general, follow the form given on Biocrawler:WikiProject Television or Biocrawler:WikiProject Movies (the television project's form seems to work well for manga/any episodic story also). Keep the articles for manga and anime together if they tell a contiguous or connected story.

Don't be afraid to create a separate page for characters if the section on the article grows large, but separate articles for each character should be avoided unless the character is very popular or notable. Name this page List of characters in (series) if it is just a list, or Characters in (series) if it contains actual information on the characters. Characters should be called what the series officially states their romaji names as. If that does not exist, use what they are named in the most recent or popular English translation, if it exists, isn't egregiously bad, and is the generally-used name (a google test is appropriate here). Otherwise, use a literal transliteration.

If information on the structure of the anime or manga (such as episode lists, lists of volumes of manga, etc.) takes up a large amount of space, please move it to a separate page titled (series) media information. Other list-type information (such as soundtrack listings) should also be placed on this page. For an example implementation see Cowboy Bebop and Cowboy Bebop media information.

Infobox

An infobox is being designed; see this project's talk page for more information.

Structure for People

For articles on seiyū, animators, directors, etc., follow Biocrawler:WikiProject Biography. Make sure to specify:

  • Name in Kanji and literal transliteration if different from the usual English name.
  • Year of birth (and death if applicable)
  • Notable works he/she was involved in
  • Impact/influence (if any)

Use the form of the name in English that he/she personally uses (e.g. Yoshitoshi ABe, not Abe Yoshitoshi), or if that is unknown, the form it is most often translated as. See also Biocrawler:Manual of Style (Japan-related articles)#Person names and Japanese name#Japanese names in English.

Companies and Organizations

See Biocrawler:Companies, corporations and economic information for basic guidelines. Also specify:

  • Year of founding (and dissolution if applicable)
  • Notable works the organization is/was involved with (though in practice this becomes a comprehensive list)

Also add [[Category:Anime companies]] and/or [[Category:Animation studios]] as appropriate.
