Articles in Biocrawler should be accessible to a general audience. While this does not mean omission of scientific language or complex formulas, it requires the inclusion of explanations that can be understood by most readers.

In a certain sense all articles on Biocrawler are accessible but, particularly in math and science articles, a background knowledge of specialized information should not be assumed, and references to basic material should always be included. Links of course make all Biocrawler articles "accessible", but organized links, such as the considered use of infobox templates, help to establish a hierarchy of prerequisite information and study. Assisting the end reader in accessing dependencies and prerequisites should make even the most complex article interesting to new students and philes.

For articles that are not necessarily accessible, the {{technical}} template should be inserted at the top of the article. This template produces the following alert box:

Articles containing this template can be found in Category:Biocrawler articles that are too technical.
