Big Sky Airlines

From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.

Big Sky Airlines is an American commercial airline headquartered in Billings, Montana. The airline flies its fleet of ten 19-seat Fairchild Metro aircraft to destinations in the states of Montana, Idaho, Washington, and, as of February 2005, to the city of Portland, Oregon.

In early 2005, Big Sky announced a few changes to its service, planning the termination of service to North Dakota, and replacing its Metro fleet with Beechcraft B1900Ds.

The airline operates a hub of sorts at Billings Logan International Airport, from which it flies more of its non-stop routes than it does from any other airport. The airline is a crucial air link within the state of Montana, serving as the primary (and in some cases, only) commercial air carrier to several small airports in the state.
