Battle of Rhen Var

Overview
The Battle Of Rhen Var can refer to 2 fictional battles in the Space Saga Star Wars and is set almost immediately after the Film Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. The first battle showed the frailty of the Old Republic in remote locations. Both battles were commanded by Jedi heroes Obi Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. Both Battles were included in Computer game Star Wars: Clone Wars.

The 1st Battle of Rhen Var was a crushing defeat for the Republic, despite the planet was unimportant for Republic forces. It was only later that the Jedi Council realised that capturing Rhen Var was the first step in the Deak Reaper project. The fact that the Republic forces on Rhen Var (which were too small to combat the Invasion) was allowed to escape the planet with minimal casualties was due to the organized teamwork of Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. Before the battle, the two Jedi detected an invasion force and rushed to Rhen Var to evacuate forces.
However, as the final outpost was preparing for evacuation the Confederacy attacked forcing Anakin to single-handedly fight to prevent the outpost from being destroyed. As the evacuation completed, the Confederacy began to destroy the Outpost.

The Second Battle of Rhen Var occurred almost, although still a minor planet in terms of startegic strength, the Jedi Temple of Ulic Quel Droma on the planet was vital to destroy the Dark Reaper. As a result, Obi Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker lauched a massive assault on the planet (with Obi Wan Kenobi fighting in the air and Skywalker on the ground). The sheer force of the attack overwhelmed the Confederate forces and Anakin Skywalker was able to lead his forces to the temple without losing any walkers. At the temple, Anakin learned how to withstand the effects of the Dark Reaper.
