Bandersnatch (disambiguation)
From Biocrawler, the free encyclopedia.
The Bandersnatch was made famous by Lewis Carroll's nonsense poem "Jabberwocky" in Through the Looking-Glass. The name has been used for unrelated fictional creatures:
- In Larry Niven's fictional Known Space universe, the Bandersnatchi are intelligent, colossal sluglike creatures.
- In the futuristic role-playing game Shadowrun, the bandersnatch is a monster which is hard to catch (or avoid!) because it has active camouflage.
- In several episodes of the popular video game series Final Fantasy, Bandersnatches are large, canine monsters which petrify opponents.
- In Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Bandersnatches are highly mutated humans with a single large arm they can stretch along several meters, with a hand that can stick to any surface. They attack by punching from afar with their arm, or by grasping someone's head and cracking his neck or slamming the victim's head against a hard surface or a wall.
