The Apollo Belvedere
This statue was for centuries the most celebrated work of sculpture from the high classical era. The marble statue that now resides in the Vatican is acually a Roman copy of a Greek bronze original that was created between 350-325 BC. Most notable of its features are the smooth form and slim figure that lend a grace and elegance to the youthful depiction of the god.
