Annibale Carracci (November 3, 1560, in Bologna - July 15, 1609, in Rome) was an Italian painter, etcher and engraver.

In Bologna, he opened, together with his cousin Lodovico Carracci and brother Agostino, the Academy of the Incamminati or Desiderosi, later called the "School of the Eclectics" and the "School of the Carracci". Giovanni Bellori considered him the epitome of Roman Baroque and the finest living artist at the time of writing of his (Bellori's) Idea.
