Anand Yadav

Anand Yadav is a writer in the Marathi style. He was born on the 30th of November, 1935 in a small village near Kolhapur, Maharastra. His father was a farmer and opposed Anand's education. After running away from his home, Anand completed his Masters degree and then Ph.D at Pune University. He began a new era in Marathi literature called "Gramin Sahitya".
Yadav's novel Joojh won the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1990.
